I think I'll finish tonight! Hopefully I'll have fully blocked pictures by Friday's post. Here's a close up of the newest motif.
Fishies!
I got half my Knitpicks order yesterday, this pattern. Much to my dismay, it is not charted. Line by line instructions for a circular shawl? Ick. There's also no indication of when the motifs change, or how many stitches there are supposed to be in each round. Now I have to decide if I like the pattern enough to chart it out. I'm leaning towards no. If you're actually interested in the Rona Shawl, it calls for 3 hanks of the Alpaca Cloud, and has a diameter of 52", both details missing from the pattern description.
*I watched the first half of Freaks and Geeks while knitting last night. How did I miss out on this show for so long? Even though it's set in 1980, and I was in high school from 96-00, it still rings true. I relate a lot to the 'nerdy kid trying to be cool' thing Lindsay has going on, and while watching it now I like the Ken character better, Nick is the kind of guy I would have dated in high school. Let's hope for a speedy Netflix turnaround, so I can watch more soon.

I can't wait to see the finished and blocked shawl - it's going to be gorgeous! I also can't believe how quickly you've gotten it done!
And Freaks and Geeks is an amazing show, really. I think what's really so terrific about it is that it doesn't matter *when* you were in high school (I was in from 88-92, my fiance from 82-86) it still resonates. I hope you continue to enjoy it!

Line by line--d'oh! Jerks. Lazy jerks.
All right, the knitting Death Match will be between you, Lauren and Lucy's Wendy. just set a date. I'll be there selling tickets and making the book.

I pretty much know every episode of "Freaks & Geeks" by heart. Have you ever seen "Undeclared"? It's almost as good, and has a hot English guy for an extra bonus. Also, no charts?!? Boo hiss. They simplify matters so much, especially for lefties.

Maybe you should email knitpicks and let them know that you're unhappy? I would be really sort of depressed if I got a pattern for a circular lace shawl (which looks really pretty in the picture) and the rows weren't charted and it didn't tell me how many stitches I should have in each row. That's important information! *sigh* This is the problem with buying online-- you don't get to ogle the product before committing to it.
