June Goals
May Goals
1. Finish Koigu socks - DONE, see below
2. Finish throat cabling on Rogue - Half done. It's freaking hot lately and Rogue is huge.
3. Finish Mom socks - heh. Nope. Probably not going to happen for a while.
4. Start Creatures of the Reef shawl - DONE. Finished it too.
5. Make some progress on either Nordic Stockings or SFCKAL - and again with the nope.
6. Finish sewing zipper in York - also no.
7. Take it easy on starting new projects/buying yarn - I'm giving this one a 'meh'. I did ok I think.
June Goals
1. Finish the little something for the little someone.
2. Get through the boring part of the Icarus Shawl.
3. More Socks!
I think most of my wool sweaters will be set aside for a few weeks. It's just too hot right now for wool in the lap.
Koigu Socks
Yarn: Koigu KPPPM, label missing.
Needles: 2.75mm Birch DPNs
Pattern: Embossed Leaves Socks
Modifications: Lots.
- Regular long tail cast on.
- Only twisted every other row in the twisted ribbing.
- Twisted the vein stitches on the leaves to make them stand out more.
- Regular slip stitch heel flap, French heel, didn't cut and reattach yarn after turning heel.
- Made the socks mirror images of each other, which involved reversing the toe detail for the 2nd sock.
- Only did the toe detail on the top of the foot.
Impressions: This is a pattern that I liked in theory but felt suffered from problems in execution. I'm very happy with how my heavily modified version came out. They fit great and are super comfy. It's my second time knitting this pattern, and I don't think I'd knit a third pair, but I was entertained through two.

Ooh, good idea on twisting the vein stitches. I'm working on the Embossed Leaves right now, and was thinking the veins needed a little more oomph. I'm most definitly filing that away for the next time I do this pattern, since I agree about the pattern getting hampered by poor execution instructions.

Gosh, you sure have set yourself a couple of goals - but you've also done very well with your May goals! I totally love your Koigu socks, they look so great and the colorway is just awesome!
