New Socks

I started a new pair of socks this weekend. I've been itching to use my Socks that Rock, so I cast on for a pair of toe up socks which were going to have a lace inset. That didn't work out so hot, so I ripped out the lace bit and started just plain socks. About halfway up the foot, I tried it on, and my normal stitch count was feeling a bit big. Also, I was bored with the plain sock. So I ripped out and looked around for patterns calling for slightly less than my standard sock stitch count.

I love Nancy Bush patterns, but most of them seem to be written for narrower feet than mine. With the slightly heavier weight yarn, I can actually knit one of her patterns without modifications. This is the Conwy Sock from Knitting on the Road. I just finished the calf shaping (which caused the pooling to swirl around), and have about 2" of leg until the heel. Hopefully I'll be turning the heel tonight.

That. Is. Stunning. What vibrant color!!! I don't mind pooling, myself. I think it's fun.

Whoa, that is really cool pooling (or flashing? whaddya call that?) That is amazingly neato.

I love the colorway on those socks - really original and fun!
