Throw your own damn money.

Finished the gusset on the Conwy socks last night, after turning the heel twice.

Conwy Sock - gusset complete

The first time I turned the heel I was off by a stitch, due to a counting error in the first row of heel turning. I'm back on track and good to go now though. I shortened the leg by an inch for two reasons. First, my leg is a bit bigger around above the 7" mark than the pattern specifies. Second, I weighed my remaining yarn and was almost halfway through the yarn for the first sock. I usually do a 6" leg, so these will still be a bit taller than my average socks. I tried it on, and the fit is very nice. The calf shaping results in a nice snug ankle, and the STR is so soft and pretty.

Tonight is poker night, so probably not much knitting (I will take the sock in case I get knocked out of the game early). If I win, maybe more STR will be my prize. BMFA has some great new colorways up (I love just about ever color of theirs I've seen, so saturated and pretty), so maybe I need a new one?

Did I mention how much I *heart* this yarn? I need this colorway. I mean NEED, the way cats need nip, the way Olive Garden diners need more salad (because they put crack in the dressing, you know...). I'll stop now.

But I want to use the winnings to buy STR! :-P

I'm liking those colors a lot too. Purple and grean always do it for me :)

Love the pattern, love the colors. STR make really great colors, don't they? Have you ever tried knitting socks toe-up?
