Leapin' Lizards
I joined the Leapin' Lizards KAL and finished another square.
This picture is with no flash, and the colorway is 157, one of the overstocked colors from Webbs. I have a 2nd ball of this color and a ball of 158, and then I'll see if I can get another square out of all the scraps.
With flash. I really like this colorway. This time I broke and spit spliced the yarn when it was time to change ball ends. For my first square I broke the yarn and left ends, but there's no way I want to leave that many ends. I'm not carrying the yarn up the sides because I think it's too far to carry the right amount and will wind up with that side being either too tight or too loose. The spit splicing solved the problem nicely.
I also started a new sock this weekend, in Lorna's Laces Swirl DK Vera.
No flash
Flash. I'm knitting them on 2.5mm DPNs (the Knitpicks ones. They're ok.) 60 stitches around. This is a tighter gauge then I would normally knit DK yarn at, but I liked how Krys's socks came out using this yarn and 2.0mm needles, so I'm giving this a go. So far so good, and my hands haven't fallen off yet. I'm 2" shy of starting the heel, which will be a toe up flap and gusset, something I haven't tried before. Exciting, I know.

Looking good! Great idea to cut and splice the yarn. I'm going to try it. I created a tangled, felted mess trying to carry the yarn.

Hi. I just wanted to stop by and say that I just finished making your Falling Leaves pattern and I really liked it. It was the first time making toe up socks (I did them on dpn's instead of two circulars though.) A very well written pattern. Thank you for sharing it with all of us!
