Conwy Sock - Completed!

Another finished pair of socks!

Conwy Socks, better color representation

Pattern: Conwy Socks from Knitting on the Road, Sock Patterns for the Traveling Knitter, by Nancy Bush. Fun pattern, with mock cabling and calf shaping.

Yarn: Socks That Rock in one of the Rare Gems colorways. I love this colorway, it reminds me of grapevines and wine. The yarn is nice and soft and squishy too, one of my favorites.

Needles: 2.75 Brittany Birch DPNs. I love these needles, but wish they were a little pointier for the mock cables.

Modifications: I made the legs about an inch shorter because I was worried about running out of yarn (it wouldn't have been a problem, I have plenty left over). Other than that I pretty much followed the pattern to the letter.

Impressions: The pattern was fun to knit, and while it made the yarn do some crazy pooling, I like the outcome. Pooling/flashing doesn't really bother me for the most part, because it's more important the pattern be interesting for me to get it done. I deem them a success.

they're very pretty, pooling and flashing included! it's crazy how the color pattern can change depending on the number of stitches in a round.
i also adore your sock blockers! where does one find cute sheepy blockers?

Beautiful! What a great colorway.

And the pooling/flashing matches so it looks really cool. I love those subtle variations in color in your closeups. Any interest in the Sunday drive out to Jamul/ fleece fire sale? I know you'r not spinning, but it's fun to see all the spinners and sheep.

waou ! they look so beautiful! i like their "psychedelik" touch given by the colors!

Been meaning to make these socks too - can't wait to get started on them now. Love how they turned out.

Beautiful socks! What a great color, I don't think it takes away from the pattern at all.

great socks
love the pattern

Ooh, I also made those, in a very similar colorway (Rolling Stone?)! I have to admit that I hated the mock cables and gave them up after about an inch since they just weren't working with my needles/gauge/patience level, but I loved the way they turned out anyway. I had the same pooling action as you - pooling on the top, striping on the foot...
