My politics are showing.

Tomorrow is election day. If you live in California, please get out and vote No on 85.

Whatever your politics, voting is important. Because of this I'm going to run a give away for those of you who vote tomorrow. Comment here telling me you voted and I'll put you in a drawing for a skein of Misti Alpaca Lace. It's the same yarn I used for Icarus, and one skein is enough to knit the Swallowtail Shawl in the Fall 06 Interweave, or a Mountain Stream Scarf, among other things. I'm running this on the honor system folks, so only enter if you actually voted. Hopefully everyone's general internal shame will keep them from cheating. Feel free to comment now if you already sent in your absentee ballot.

I'll announce the winner in my Thursday post. Make sure you leave a valid email address when you comment so I can contact you if you're the winner. Good luck and be sure to vote!

I'm a permanent absentee voter who sent in her ballot on Friday! :)

Does voting in Pennsylvania count? (It does for me - I'm a PA resident!) I voted by absentee ballot 2 weeks ago.

Yep, voting in any state counts!

I voted in Virginia.

Eight AM here...voted already! A priviledge I wouldn't pass up!

I'd vote on that if I could, honestly, but can't, since I'm in Canada and not even registered to vote here. :p (Landed immigrants don't get the same voting rights as citizens.) But I just thought I'd pop by to throw in my support and hope that this proposition doesn't get passed. In theory, it makes sense. Prevents kids from using abortion as a way to avoid responsibility, involves the family in family affairs, and what have you. But in a large number of cases, I feel that enforcing such a law would do more harm than good.

And that's my two cents Canadian. :p

I'm in Massachusetts and I've just voted. I figured I'd go early to avoid the lines, but apparently everyone else in my neighborhood had the same idea! :)

I voted in Virginia! I tried to get one of the Democrat volunteers to pose with my sock WIP, but they were busy handing out sample ballots.

Here is another Massachusetts voter who cast her ballot this morning.

I just came back from voting! Seriously lame here in rural New York - all I had to do is announce my name, and without any form of ID I was allowed to walk right in and vote. Not to mention the archaic voting machine that took me a few minutes to figure out - and I like to think I'm at least a little above average intelligence.

Yes I voted in Massachusetts.

I voted in Minnesota!

I voted in Massachusetts, too (it seems you hold a lot of us in thrall, no?). The difference between our two major-party goobernatorial candidates: "Hope!" *political face* vs. "four more years of jack squat." With "I hate the Big Dig" and "Yes, there is still a Green Party" running on the smaller tickets.

I voted in CA this afternoon. There was so much to vote on - it was a little overwhelming. I did my duty and voted no on the abortion one.

I voted, and didn't even get a little sticker! Wah! (I even took my 2004 sticker off my wallet, in preparation for the new one. I'm convinced there needs to be a constitutional ammendment demanding that all voters get shiny new stickers!)

I voted! But you already knew that from my drama llama post earlier. ;)

*de-lurks*

I voted in Missouri this afternoon.

I voted in NC, and beetles ate all my pretty lacework this week. So I clearly need more laceweight yarn!

I voted in Delaware this morning. Took me longer to walk nextdoor to the polls and back than to actually vote, but sadly no sticker.

I just got back from voting - so count me in as well!

I voted in Oregon - and voted NO on our version of 85.

I would've voted even without the yarn tempt! Although, I've never knitted with laceweight yarn, so I'm itching to try it!

I'm proud to have voted today in CALIFORNIA and I voted NO on PROP 85!!!!

Here in Massachusetts, and not at all *rural* Massachusetts--mind you, I also did not have to provide an ID, which is something I brought up earlier to my mother. It just seems shocking to me that even Blockbuster video won't let you get a membership without showing an ID, but in our state you're allowed to just waltz in and say your address and name and then voila, you're voting.

I voted last night!

I voted! I tried to vote twice, but the moustache didn't fool anybody!
