Tina Progress and frogging party

I made some good progress on the Tina Shawl this weekend. After spending Sunday afternoon picking up stitches around the sides, I got 13 rounds into the 58 rounds that make up charts 2 and 3.

Lump of crap view. It's not going to be anywhere close to spread out until I get about halfway through the edging.

Tina Detail (by Jessimuhka)

Detail view 1. This shows the start of the double yarn over diagonals. So far this is a fun knit.

Tina detail - strawberry (by Jessimuhka)

Detail 2. This one shows the little "strawberry" at the space between the diagonals. The strawberry is a traditional Shetland lace motif. Once I get through the 58 rounds, I'll have approximately eleventy billion rows of edging to do (okay, I checked, 1,700. I think eleventy billion is still accurate).

Saturday Jen hosted a frogging party at her house. Cora, Krys, Kristin, and Marisa all were there with either knitting or frogging.

Jen's double stranded chenille nightmare (by Jessimuhka)

Jen, ripping out a double stranded chenille shrug. I would have just thrown that away.

Krys, knitting away (by Jessimuhka)

Krys, working on her here and there cabled scarf with the Lousia Harding wool/silk yarn we both got on another group outing. (I already finished my scarf with that yarn. =P)

Kristin and Marissa frog Simply Marilyn (by Jessimuhka)

Marisa and Kristin ripping out Kristin's Simply Marilyn. Kristin has a whole lot of Cashmerino Super Chunky on her hands now.

And now, for a completely random photo.

Bathroom nose (by Jessimuhka)

This nose was glued to the inside of a stall door in the women's restroom in Peterson Hall at UCSD. Now the use of a camera in a bathroom is generally a no-no, but this was too weird not to photograph. We'll pretend no one could have possibly heard the shutter click. (I did wait until there was water running.)

If you have any interest in more of my adventures with my new camera, here are about 60 pictures I took for a class project in North Park.

You mean there is supposed to be something wrong with having your camera with you in the bathroom? You never know when you might get a great shot..... And you are right, that is a little bit strange.

What? Are you bad-talking the chenille yarny goodness? ;-)

BACK OFF BITCH JESSIMUHKA AND HER LACEWORK ARE MINE I'LL CUT YOU

Beautiful - my 4 repeats of lace from VLT look even smaller now. For whatever reason, I am really tickled by that strawberry motif.
