Now with pictures!
I am officially on vacation. Work is closed all next week as a thank you for all our hard work during the overtime crunch, and I am so excited. Friday after work, SG and I met some of my friends down in PB at the Liar's Club for beer and burgers. It's a little off the main drag in PB, and I was thankful for that. I'm not a PB person, but this place had many kinds of yummy beer and the food was quite good. Also, our waitress was awesome. Excellent kick start to a vacation. Yesterday was fun and busy as well. Today I'm having a lazy Sunday and managed to actually take pictures of my main summer projects.
The Purple Scroll socks I mentioned in my last post. I'm knitting them on 0s, and so far they fit over my heel just fine. This is about a repeat and a half in, and just over 2" long. I'm planning on approximately 6" of cuff, so I can be sure to have enough for the whole foot, as I'm knitting at a tighter gauge than I usually do. The Koigu is lovely, of course, and the pattern is great fun. Y'all should make them. Once again, the pattern can be found on Rebekkah's blog.
My Orange Cardi. It's a modification of Knit and Tonic Wendy's Marilyn's Cardi. I lengthened mine, because I don't do cropped and added picot edging. The yarn is Jaeger Trinity, which I've been warned stretches a lot, so I'm making it a bit snug to start out. This is fairly close to finishing. I need to do a few more rows on the first sleeve (elbow length), knit the second, give it a wash, tack down the hems, and do the button bands.
I also received my August Rockin' Sock Club shipment. I won't be doing this club again, but I think the reasons are a post for another day.
