Catching up
As most of you probably already know, San Diego was/is on fire this week. My area of town was fine, and the friends camped on my floor have gone back home. I'm also back at work, as of yesterday, and things are starting to get back to normal. I did get some knitting done to try and stay calm during those 3 days off work, so here it is.
Completed back of my sister's sweater. Pattern is the Apricot Jacket from Rebecca. It only took a week to knit the back, so I have pretty high hopes of finishing in time for Christmas. I'm out of town all weekend (wedding) so most likely won't cast on for the fronts until Monday. The tubular cast on I'm using is sitting on the couch knitting, not traveling knitting.
Little Child's Sock from Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush. I love this sock. I'm much further along now, about 2/3 through the foot. I apologize for the quality of the photo, sunlight has been low. The yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Solid in Bold Red. I think that's a misleading color name. It could be bolder. I like it, but I'd call it Strawberry Red. I think I'll finish the first one this weekend and be able to cast on for the second.
That's it for now. That's for the well wishes sent my way during the week. Also, if you feel like donating something, the Red Cross is your best bet.

Hi Jessica, I just wanted to tell you that you do some beautiful work! I taught myself to knit a couple of years ago but haven't gone beyond scarves yet.
