Knitting and Drinking

I've got a new week night knitting group, and it's great. This week I worked on the socks for my mom's Christmas gift, as well as a large commemorative stein of beer for Oktoberfest. Wow, was it loud though. Hopefully next week will be sans Polka and accordion.

Knitting and beer at Toronado.

No, the sock isn't small, that is a 1L mug. It's in my kitchen now, and I have no idea what to do with it. Maybe I'll use it as a vase. Also, I wish I could blame the blurry pic on drinking, but I just have shaky hands. By the time I'd finished the beer (and declared myself champion of the world) I'd knit the heel. First sock was finished last week, so I'm very close to a pair! After that, slippers for Dad, and then I'm ready for Christmas.

I also made some good progress on my giant doily blanket, but the Santa Ana winds are making it too hot again for big heavy knitting. Hopefully it will cool down again soon, because knitting is way more fun when it's nice and cold.

Ooh, a liter of beer and a heel, you are the champion of the world! (I would probably forget I was knitting a heel halfway through it and end up knitting around, resulting in a weird bulge...)

Giant doily blanket? Is that the Hemlock Ring or whatever it's called? (I suppose I could look it up around here somewhere, but I'm lazy.) When you said "Eco Wool" last night, that's what I thought of. Have I been looking at the Webs catalog lately? Yes I have.

I want to do a pair of knitted socks for my father as a christmas gift: Chicago Bears fan. I followed the Etsy link and found what looks like the same skein you used. Although, I have no idea how to knit. That I can learn. By December. I'm a stay-at-home mum with not much else to do besides play with my 5 month old little girl. I was wondering if you could tell me the type of kniw or pattern you used for those socks because they look really spiffy. And comfy.

Did you just say there is knitting at Toronado?!?! This would be my dream knit night! Please, please e-mail me or Ravelry me with details! (I'm triners on Ravelry) I would LOVE to join you... :)

Crap. I think you mean Toronado San Diego.... :( I live in San Francisco!
