Happy November!

It's not feeling very November-y in San Diego today. SG and his roommate actually turned the A/C on today, and Google tells me it's 86 degrees out. None of that is important though, because November begins the Christmas season for me. And what better way to kick off November than with a finished gift.

Finished gift (by Jessimuhka)

Yarn: Lorna's Laces DK Swirl in Vera (and a teeny big of STR mediumweight on the second toe)
Needles: 2.75mm
Pattern: Basic 64 stitch sock with a round heel.

The DK swirl is a pretty neat yarn to work with. It's 4 ply, with 3 plies of wool and 1 ply of silk. The silk and wool take up the dye at different rates, which creates a pretty neat look. I'm pretty sure it's the same base yarn as BMFA Silke and Mountain Colors DK Twizzle (and I have a skein of the Twizzle in the stash).

Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned this yet, but Krysaia and I booked our class and room for Stitches West 09! We're both taking the Fiona Ellis cabling class on Friday, and will be in Santa Clara Thursday afternoon until Saturday night. I'm super excited. Who else is going?

Marisa and I will be there! She's taking Shetland Shawls on Friday, I'll be in Argyle socks in the round (also Friday). Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. :)
